About the role:  
 
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial, the Senior Analyst, Cost is responsible for t is responsible for generating a current and forward-looking view of our business  by consolidating and analysing monthly performance, monthly forecast information and annual budget information. This role will support the financial decision-making  processes, including historical performance analysis and reporting, and improve  systems in collaboration with partners across our support departments. 
 
To be successful, we are looking for someone with advanced analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities, who is also detail oriented and meticulous in  their work. The successful candidate would use strong interpersonal and  communication skills to present financial data in a meaningful way that maximizes  the impact and value for the audience. The ability to thrive under pressure and work  independently to meet challenging priorities while building relationships within the  business is vital for success in this role.

  • ### In this role you will:
    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Complete forecasts, budgets, reporting, variance, and trend analysis; apply  strategic insight to financial data to support the financial assessment of  performance vs targets
    • Consolidate detailed information succinctly and in a manner that can be  effectively understood by a variety of audiences
    • Develop presentations for use in senior leadership and site department review  meetings to support forecast, budget and site decision making
    • Explain and mentor department heads on their financial performance versus  plans
    • Coordinate month-end activities and prepare budgets and forecasts
    • Assist in the development of the departments Standard Policies and  Procedures 
    ### Requirements:
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation 
  • Minimum of two to five years’ experience in industrial accounting or finance.  
  • Strong cost and technical accounting knowledge 
  • Excellent digital literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite®: Outlook,  Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
  • The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
