We are seeking a passionate Sales Consultant to join our team, specialising in the sales of Food Servicing / Catering Equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Food Servicing / Catering equipment or experience doing showroom sales with similar technical equipment.
This role involves building relationships with existing clients and guiding the sales journey from initial interest to final purchase.
Location: Stikland, Cape Town
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 08:00-16:30
Reports to: Sales Team Manager
Responsibilities:
Sales
- Provide general sales support in the showroom (needs analysis, product demonstrations).
- Grow relationships with existing distributors and end user customers.
- Call on prospective clients (business owners, restaurant owners, catering managers, hotel managers, chefs etc) and follow up on leads.
- Consult with clients on showroom floor, telephonically, Whatsapp and/or via email
- Track progress of sales according to targets alongside Sales Manager.
- Keep up to date with new products, market conditions, advertising and promotional trends.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure product offerings meet customer needs and are advertised in a way that suits customer base.
- Ensure general housekeeping of the showroom - presentable and stocked at all times.
- Report any noticeable trends, ideas, challenges or general info to the Sales Manager on a weekly or monthly basis.
Administration
- Effectively manage the sales administration.
- Prepare and issue quotes and invoices.
- Process payments via cash, eft or credit card.
- Provide exceptional service and follow through on orders, couriers and deliveries.
Team support
- Support sales team and colleagues where possible.
- Engage in team activities, training, and meetings.
- Assist colleagues with administration and/or sales where necessary.
Requirements
- 3-5 years in a sales position
- 1+ years of experience with Food Servicing Equipment
- Excellent computer skills (Emails, Word, Excel)
- South African driver’s license
- Fluent in English; proficiency in an African language or Afrikaans is a significant advantage
- Further education/experience in Sales/Marketing/Hospitality industry - advantageous.
