Ko wai mātou – About us

Kia ora.  We’re Foodies.  You know New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square right? That’s us!

With 300+ stores and over 24,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Maui, our North Island Co-op has the privilege of helping New Zealanders get more out of life.  Locally owned, we reflect the communities we serve, and we celebrate our people - our taonga, every day for being uniquely them.

Our Support Centre is 1,000+ people strong, which includes 300+ IT employees, who all play a vital role in ensuring the cogs of our Co-op stay turning and our systems stay ‘byte’-sized and ‘bug’-free.”

Te Tūranga – About the role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer – TOSCA, you’ll play a hands‑on role in modernising how quality is delivered across Foodstuffs North Island. You’ll design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions using Tricentis TOSCA, ensuring our ERP and COTS platforms are reliable, scalable, and fit for the future.

You’ll work closely with Agile delivery squads, SAP Functional Consultants, and technical specialists to embed quality thinking across the SDLC — not just testing at the end. This is a technical individual contributor role where your influence comes through expertise, collaboration, and advocacy for quality.

Operating in a fast‑paced FMCG environment, you’ll help ensure quality across SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and our Web, Mobile, API, Data, and POS platforms.

 In this role, you will:

  • Actively contribute to Agile delivery squads, collaborating across disciplines to achieve sprint goals.
  • Partner with SAP Functional Consultants and SMEs to translate business requirements into robust TOSCA automation assets.
  • Create and execute Micro Test Plans to validate user stories within each sprint.
  • Design and implement Macro Test Plans to ensure end‑to‑end testing of quarterly BRP features and complex integrations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain TOSCA automated test scripts, scenarios, data, and cases across GUI, API, and service layers.
  • Contribute to and uplift our TOSCA automation frameworks, supporting our automation‑first strategy.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Log, manage, and communicate defects clearly, collaborating with squads and Product Owners to resolution.
  • Advocate for quality thinking across design, build, and delivery — not just test execution.
  • Contribute to the QA Engineering Practice through knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and mentoring.

He kōrero mōu - About you

You’re a technically strong QA Engineer who loves automation and takes pride in building high‑quality, maintainable testing solutions. You’re curious, collaborative, and comfortable working in complex enterprise environments where quality really matters.

 You’ll bring:

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Tricentis TOSCA for automated testing.
  • Experience building and maintaining GUI, API, and service‑level test automation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of SAP platforms and SAP test automation (e.g. ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, SuccessFactors).
  • Experience using Tricentis Test Data Service (TDS) or similar test data management approaches.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration.
  • Experience testing across Web, Mobile, API, and integrated enterprise systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Familiarity with test management and documentation tools (e.g. HP ALM, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, Confluence).
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and quality advocacy.

It’s a bonus if you also have:

  • Tricentis TOSCA certifications (AS1, AS2, or similar).
  • Experience with Tricentis NeoLoad or LiveCompare.
  • Experience testing CRM (SAP / Salesforce), ServiceNow, or POS systems.
  • Exposure to FMCG, Retail, Wholesale, or Supply Chain environments.
  • Experience with performance, regression, or non‑functional testing in enterprise systems. Strong understanding of Distribution Centre (DC) operations.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware / device testing.
