Ko wai mātou – About us

Kia ora.  We’re Foodies.  You know New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square right? That’s us!

With 300+ stores and over 24,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Maui, our North Island Co-op has the privilege of helping New Zealanders get more out of life.  Locally owned, we reflect the communities we serve, and we celebrate our people - our taonga, every day for being uniquely them.

Every day, thousands of customers shop in-store or online. To make it happen, our supply chain – one of New Zealand’s biggest – keeps everything moving. With over 1,000 team members, we move more than 100 million cartons a year, covering 19 million kilometres — that’s nearly 24 round trips to the moon!

Te Tūranga – About the role

We are looking for a practical, detail-oriented Business Data Analyst to support our Supply Chain DC Replenishment team. This role sits at the intersection of business, data, and systems, focusing on maintaining and enhancing data models and analytics processes, supporting decision-making, and translating operational processes into scalable analytical solutions.

You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable insights and drive continuous improvement across supply chain and FMCG operations.

Structured onboarding and coaching will be provided to help you build a strong understanding of our data models, systems, and processes.

  • Flexible working options, a day off on your birthday, long service leave
  • Inhouse learning and development programmes and courses, flu vaccinations, and social network groups (we call them Tribes).

Growth & Development opportunities

Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of more complex development initiatives within the data analytics ecosystem, build advanced skills in data modelling and analytics, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our data frameworks and standards.

He kōrero mōu - About you

You’ll likely have a degree in a technical discipline such as Information Systems, Business Analytics, or Statistics, and a hybrid background across data, systems, and business is highly desirable.

You can quickly understand business processes and context, and you communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.

You bring around 1–3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, visualisation, or business analytics, along with strong capability in data wrangling and data modelling.

Proven experience with Power BI (or similar data modelling and visualisation tools) is essential, and you’re confident in Excel and a querying language such as SQL, with exposure to at least one programming language (for example Python or R).

Experience in FMCG and/or supply chain, as well as ERP systems such as SAP, is advantageous, and any exposure to cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, Snowflake, or AWS is a bonus. Above all, you’re detail-oriented, learn quickly, and manage your time effectively.

We’re interested in your diverse experiences, your strengths and how adaptable you are to learn and grow.  If you don't meet every requirement, but feel this role could be for you, we’d still love to hear from you!
