About Us
We are a venture-backed manufacturing startup building the most advanced automated production facilities in the United States. We are on a mission to make American manufacturing economically viable — through intelligent machinery, automation, and a relentless focus on execution.
We are early, we are moving fast, and we are looking for exceptional people who want to build something that matters.
Role Summary
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a small, fast-moving team designing and building large-scale industrial manufacturing equipment. This role owns the electrical side of the machine — from component selection and system architecture through PLC integration and custom PCBA design — and will grow with the function over time.
Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for large-scale industrial manufacturing equipment, from architecture through build and commissioning
Evaluate, select, and specify electrical components — motors, VFDs, transformers, sensors, and related equipment — from third-party vendors and integrate them into machine designs
Contribute to custom PCBA design, including schematic capture, layout coordination, and bring-up
Develop and integrate PLC-based control systems to drive machine automation and sequencing
Troubleshoot electrical systems across hardware, firmware, and controls — from bench-level debug to live machine diagnosis on the shop floor
Generate electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs to hand off to build technicians
Work directly alongside build technicians on the shop floor to support panel builds, wiring, and system bring-up
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical and controls engineers — including remote teammates — to integrate electrical systems into complete machine builds
Help define electrical engineering standards, documentation practices, and team processes as the function scales
Preferred Experience
4+ years of electrical engineering experience in a hands-on, build-oriented environment
Experience with industrial control systems, including PLC programming and integration
Familiarity with industrial electrical component selection and sourcing — motors, VFDs, power distribution, sensors — not designing them from scratch, but knowing what to spec and why
Custom PCBA design experience — schematic capture, layout coordination, and board bring-up required. Willingness to work across both PCBA and PLC domains.
Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical and controls systems — comfortable diagnosing issues at the component, board, and system level
Comfortable generating professional electrical documentation — schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs
Effective communicator and collaborator in a distributed team environment — comfortable with async communication and remote-first workflows
Flexible with schedule and hours; thrives in a startup environment where priorities shift and urgency is real
Nice to Have
Experience at an early-stage hard tech or deep tech startup
Prior experience on a small team where you wore multiple hats
Familiarity with NEC compliance and industrial electrical safety standards
Exposure to high-speed or high-power industrial machinery
Any prior team lead or mentorship experience
Additional
Willingness to travel as needed for vendor visits, factory acceptance testing, and on-site equipment commissioning
Comfort with a startup pace — this role demands flexibility, self-direction, and a bias toward getting things done over waiting for perfect conditions
