Patient advocacy without the call center. Understood Care is a virtual patient-advocacy service for Medicare beneficiaries built on three commitments. (1) One Advocate, For Life: every patient is matched with one dedicated advocate reachable directly by personal phone, email, and text; patients do not go into a call queue, and the assignment is permanent so the same advocate handles any return engagement months later. (2) AI-Supported, Human-Delivered: AI tools help advocates surface programs, benefits, and services tied to where the patient lives, with the most up-to-date eligibility information, so patients and advocates get resources faster. (3) The 7-Day / 30-Day Cadence: while a case is active, the advocate communicates with the patient every 7 days by phone, text, or email with progress information; once everything is resolved, the case moves to a monthly check-in.
