About this role

Cayuga Displays Inc. is a growing, progressive manufacturing company of refrigerated and dry display fixtures primarily for the Supermarket and food service industry. Cayuga Displays is in an everchanging market that is fast paced making us an innovative company with exciting opportunities.

Weve made it our business to understand the retail food customer – their traffic flow habits, shopping behaviors, design preferences and product demands. Our displays and fixtures are meticulously designed and manufactured to address our clients customers and business. From the specialized needs of bakery, deli, floral and produce departments to the myriad display needs throughout an entire store, we have the products and expertise in every food category.

This posting reflects an active hiring need for an existing vacancy with our client. We use AI-assisted tools to help review resumes and identify potential candidate matches, however all hiring decisions are made by our team and the client directly.

Position Description

The Woodworking Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, preparing, and finishing wooden and metal displays, fixtures, and subassemblies according to design specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sand, and trim wooden and metal display and fixture parts.
  • Assemble displays and fixtures, including subassemblies and complete articles.
  • Reinforce assembled products using dowels, fasteners, or other supports.
  • Install hardware, fittings, and components on displays and fixtures.
  • Inspect subassemblies and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Identify and mark defective parts or products for repair, and perform minor adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Experience in woodworking or furniture/fixture assembly is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, drawings, or blueprints is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common woodworking and assembly tools, including sanders, drills, saws, routers, clamps, and measuring tools, are an asset.

Skills and Competencies

  • Experience with quality inspection or manufacturing safety practices, such as checking finished fixtures against standards, spotting defects, or following shop-floor safety procedures, is an asset.
  • Problem solving skills and detail minded
  • Work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to work overtime when needed is an asset

Benefits

  • $17.60 - $21 per hour
  • Typical hours 6:30am – 5:00pm Mon-Thurs, Fridays and Saturdays as needed
