We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Senior Tax Accountant with public accounting experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and reviewing federal and multi-state tax returns for both businesses and high-net-worth individuals. This role offers hands-on experience with a wide range of clients and industries, and the opportunity to expand your technical skills in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and/or review federal and state tax returns for small to medium-sized businesses (Forms 1065 and 1120S), including multi-state entities
Import and convert client trial balances into tax workpapers; analyze for timing differences and Schedule M adjustments
Prepare and/or review complex individual tax returns (Form 1040) for high-net-worth clients, including multiple K-1 entries, composite returns, and multi-state withholdings
Conduct tax research on federal, state, and local income and sales tax matters
Assist with FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Report) filings and related financial disclosures
Collaborate with senior tax staff to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings
Communicate with clients to collect financial data, clarify issues, and provide updates
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred
2–5 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
Proficient in preparing and reviewing Forms 1065, 1120S, and 1040
Familiarity with multi-state tax filings and composite returns
Strong working knowledge of tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem FX, or similar), Excel, and accounting systems
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Multi-lingual a plus (Portuguese, Italian and/or Spanish preferred based on demographics and client list).
Nice to Have:
Experience with international compliance (e.g., FBAR, FATCA)
Exposure to sales and use tax compliance and research
This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.
We are excited to invite talented individuals to join our dynamic team! This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.
