HammondCare North Turramurra is currently looking for 3 Perm, Part-time Specialised Carer – Dementia Carer to join our team. These include Afternoons and Nights in Dementia-specific cottages.
Our focus is on filling both Night rosters.
- Roster 1 is 40hrs per fortnight
- Roster 2 is 50hrs per fortnight
Please note: Rosters available do not suit student visa due to hour restrictions. Unlimited work rights will be highly regarded.
This role requires you to provide tailored care including personal support within the residential cottage environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting etc
- Engage residents in their favourite activities
- Support residents to live quality of life and support their choices
- Support residents with high levels of dementia and behavioural changes
- Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the conditions of residents within your skills and competencies.
All new staff will complete an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses and Managers on site.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a genuine passion for serving elderly people & want to make a difference in their lives.
- Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights & weekends.
- Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative.
- Have knowledge & experience of people living with Dementia & their needs.
- Applicants with Cert lll or Cert lV in Aged Care would be viewed favourably.
