Job Description

At Novotel & ibis Sydney Olympic Park, we're looking for an energetic and hands on Assistant Executive Housekeeper to help lead our Housekeeping team and ensure our hotels continue to deliver outstanding experiences for every guest, every stay. This is an exciting opportunity for a housekeeping professional ready to take the next step in their leadership career.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you'll play a key role in the day to day leadership of the Housekeeping Department, helping to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest comfort across guest rooms, public areas and back of house spaces. You'll be a visible leader who motivates the team, drives productivity, manages quality standards and ensures operations run smoothly and efficiently. When the Executive Housekeeper is away, you'll confidently step into a Department Head capacity and lead the department.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting in overseeing the cleaning and presentation of guestrooms and public areas to ensure exceptional guest experiences
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of Accor Housekeeping standards, systems and procedures
  • Monitoring room cleaning productivity and ensuring departmental targets are achieved
  • Handling guest feedback, requests and complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Liaising closely with the hotel's laundry provider to maintain high laundering standards and manage linen, uniforms and guest laundry services
  • Managing lost property processes in accordance with hotel policies
  • Maintaining accurate stock inventories for linen, guest supplies, amenities and housekeeping equipment
  • Ensuring housekeeping equipment is properly maintained and serviced
  • Identifying opportunities to improve service standards, increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Leading, coaching and supporting team members to achieve their best every day

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Housekeeping leadership role within a hotel environment (Supervisor, Assistant Manager or similar).
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS or similar hotel management systems.
  • Ability to work across a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and major event days
  • Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations and quality standards, with exceptional organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • A proven leader with experience motivating and developing diverse housekeeping teams, exceptional communication skills, and a positive, hands-on approach.
  • An energetic and detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced hotel environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional standards through strong team engagement.
  • Sound understanding of inventory management, rostering and productivity targets
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Have full work rights in Australia
