For our Digital department we are seeking the Director Digital Success & Transformation Africa, Eastern Mediterranean, and West Asia (AMWA) (f/m/d). The position can be located within any major HM location within the Europe or the AMWA region.

This is one of the most influential digital leadership roles in the region. As Director Digital Success & Transformation AMWA, you operate at the intersection of business performance, country leadership, and digital transformation. Your mission is both, simple and high-impact: turn digital capabilities into measurable business results across some of Heidelberg Materials’ most important markets. You will partner directly with Managing Directors, functional leaders, and operations teams to identify where Digital can create the greatest value and then make that value happen through adoption, scaling, and benefits realisation. This is not a staff role and not a governance role. It is a business leadership role with real influence on P&L outcomes, transformation speed, and the long-term competitiveness of the region.

You will be part of the local ExCom’s, ensuring Digital is represented where the most important business decisions are made. You will shape the regional digital agenda, influence central roadmaps through structured country feedback, and build the partnerships that turn group capabilities into local impact.

You will report directly to SVP Digital Success & Transformation.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

  • Own and drive the digital value agenda for AMWA, translating digital strategy into a clear country portfolio of initiatives with quantified value cases, prioritisation, and delivery plans.
  • Accelerate adoption and P&L impact of Heidelberg Materials’ digital solutions and platforms by orchestrating rollout, change, training, and benefits realisation across countries and business lines.
  • Build strong country partnerships with Managing Directors, functional leaders, and operations teams to identify the highest‑impact business problems and convert them into scalable digital deployment plans.
  • Ensure initiatives move from rollout to outcomes, establishing accountability for usage, process change, KPI shifts, and financial impact—avoiding “technology delivered but not adopted” scenarios.
  • Lead the transformation playbook for your region: standardise and replicate proven approaches (governance, communication, capability building, super‑user networks, performance tracking) across countries to increase speed and consistency.
  • Steer a balanced portfolio across efficiency, growth, customer experience, and sustainability outcomes—ensuring alignment with enterprise platforms, architecture, data, security, and operating model standards.
  • Create transparency for senior governance by providing crisp, fact‑based reporting on progress, risks, adoption, and value delivered; escalate early and remove barriers decisively.
  • Act as the voice of the countries toward central digital teams: bring structured feedback, quantify needs, and help shape roadmaps so that platforms and products deliver tangible local value while staying globally scalable.
  • Drive AI literacy forward across your region, ensuring business leaders and teams build understanding, confidence, and practical skills to adopt and scale AI‑enabled solutions effectively.
  • Support M&A integration by partnering with country management and Group Strategy & M&A to build digital integration plans, coordinate with Group Digital functions, and ensure acquisitions align with the regional digital agenda.
  • Contribute to savings by driving further centralisation of decentralised IT functions across countries in your region, identifying consolidation opportunities, and ensuring alignment with the target operating model.
  • Reduce the local application portfolio by identifying business cases that speak in favour of moving towards a Group solution. Build a strong partnership with the Global Enterprise Architecture community to ensure architectural alignment and accelerate consolidation.
  • Drive regional cyber security through the Regional Security Officers in your team, ensuring tight alignment with the Global Cybersecurity team on standards, incident response, and risk posture across the countries — including security awareness and engagement programmes for end users.
  • Partner with the global Enterprise Products team and support ERP go‑lives in your region, ensuring readiness, change management, and successful adoption across country organisations.
  • Liaise with global Operations & Services and make sure that your region receives the IT operations KPI’s that your customers expect—driving accountability, service quality, and continuous improvement.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Extensive leadership experience driving large‑scale digital transformation and value realisation in a complex, international environment (e.g., industrial, manufacturing, materials, or comparable). Especially in emerging markets.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes (P&L impact) through digital initiatives—beyond pilots and launch events—across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong communicator and excellent senior‑level stakeholder management skills—able to translate digital and AI topics into clear business language and drive decisions with transparency and pragmatism.
  • Experience in the ready‑mix concrete, cement, and aggregates business lines, or comparable heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of how platforms, data, analytics, and AI‑enabled solutions translate into operational and commercial value, and what it takes to drive sustained adoption.
  • Understanding of core business processes in the countries and the ability to connect digital initiatives to tangible operational improvements.
  • Influencing skills that go beyond formal authority—leading through conviction, collaboration, and trust rather than relying on solid‑line reporting.
  • Empowering management style with a lot of energy to hustle for a better outcome for the business—creating ownership, momentum, and accountability in teams.
  • Financial acumen: comfort with P&L logic, value cases, and benefits tracking to ensure digital investments deliver measurable returns.
  • A strategic yet hands‑on leadership style: comfortable operating in ambiguity, resolving conflicts, and driving outcomes at pace.

We are convinced that only those who successfully realize their personal goals can also fully contribute professionally. That's why we offer you attractive benefits, such as:

  • Flexible working time models
