Department Overview

Group Productivity Improvement Department(GPID), as a direct organization under COO, aims to maximize profitability through the foundation of policies, monitoring, and shikumi-ka related to productivity improvement across the entire Rakuten Group. This is to accelerate autonomous productivity improvement activities and ensure continuous productivity enhancement.
In this role, we not only support management decision-making but also address specific problem-solving and the execution of initiatives.
In the rapidly growing Rakuten, under the expanding Rakuten ecosystem and the rapidly evolving internet industry, GPID faces a wide range of challenges.
In other words, it is an environment full of opportunities to create added value through productivity improvement and contribute to the company and society.

Position Details

To achieve the group-wide budget, create shikumi to improve group productivity including Triple20, as well as planning and promoting group-wide initiatives. To promote group-wide initiatives, our stakeholders are from various group organizations including L1/L2 layers. GPID has a lot of opportunities to promote the entire group.

Examples
- Setting Productivity KGI/KPIs for the entire Rakuten Group and each BU, planning and execution of policies to achieve these targets
- Setting indicators and goals for Triple20, and planning and promoting initiatives to achieve them
- Weekly PL analysis, TvA/TvF analysis of productivity indicators, and reporting to management
- Planning and managing "Productivity MTG"
- Planning and executing group-wide organizational strengthening initiatives (e.g., Leadership Program: training for middle management)
- Planning, leading, and hands-on support for group-wide PJTs, and collaborating on PJTs across the group
- Understanding facts through Gemchi-Gembutsu and guiding the setting of unit price for all organizations

Work Environment

TTL 10 people including those with dual roles

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 3+ years' experience of corporate planning / business planning in business company, or 5+ years' experience of project management (not IT project) in consulting firm
- Native level Japanese
- Communication skills and negotiate skills
 

Desired Qualifications:
- Business level English

- Experience of implementing new business models
- Experience of project leading for enhancement of competitiveness, productivity, organizational capability
- Experience of operating board meeting, management meeting and other important events

- Experience in planning and implementing company-wide organizational reforms
- Experience as a company-wide improvement project leader leading multinational members
- Experience of management consulting project
- Experience of M&A or alliances
- Experience in Internet or Web business industry

- Experience in managing projects across multiple organizations
- BPR experience
