Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director and as a member of the Infusion Department, the unit secretary performs a wide range of secretarial duties and coordinates department procedures to ensure professional and efficient operation of the department in providing quality patient care. The unit secretary performs the following duties, including but not limited to, answering clinic phones, retrieving messages and answering calls promptly, collaborating with health care team members and other departments to schedule patient infusion appointments and checking in patients for their appointments. The unit secretary must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide indirect care appropriate to patients and families served on the unit. The unit secretary is responsible for greeting and receiving visitors, responding to needs of patients and family members and taking a proactive role in the efficient operation of the unit. The environment is busy and requires interaction with the health care team, patients and families in a confined space.20 hour role, 10 hour Saturdays with 10 hours during the week (and eventually could be Sundays)
