Role Overview
The Scrum Master (Level 4) is a hands-on Agile delivery lead responsible for enabling high-performing teams and ensuring predictable delivery of business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Drive effective adoption of Agile and Scrum practices across teams
- Coach team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles and ways of working
- Enable teams to be self-organizing, collaborative, and high performing
- Identify, track, and resolve impediments impacting delivery
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines
- Support backlog refinement and prioritization in partnership with Product Owners
- Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, and delivery metrics (burndown, capacity, risks, dependencies)
- Prepare and communicate sprint status, delivery insights, risks, and improvement areas to stakeholders and leadership
- Maintain transparency of work through Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Jira Align / Azure DevOps)
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and team execution
- Support release planning and cross-team coordination in scaled Agile environments (e.g., SAFe / ART)
- Promote adherence to quality standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, data-driven insights, and actionable outcomes
Basic Qualifications
- Any degree with 4-7 years of experience in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience supporting Agile software delivery teams in enterprise environments
- Experience working across multiple Agile teams or scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS)
- Experience preparing Agile delivery metrics, dashboards, and leadership updates
- Proven ability to:
- Operate as a strong individual contributor with influence beyond a single team
- Manage multi-team coordination and delivery ownership
- Bridge product, engineering, and governance layers
- Experience working in healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environments
- Experience supporting enterprise platform delivery (e.g., Salesforce or similar systems) including release planning and dependency management
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Scrum, SAFe, and Agile delivery practices
- Hands-on experience in sprint execution, backlog refinement, and impediment management
- Ability to analyse delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, capacity, dependencies, blockers) to drive improvements
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology teams
- Experience using Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jira Align, or Azure DevOps
Good-to-Have Skills
- Agile coaching, workshop facilitation, or team enablement experience
- Experience working with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, or Kanban practices
- Experience working in global, matrixed organizations
Professional Certifications
- SAFe Scrum Master (or equivalent) – Required
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent – Preferred
Soft Skills
- Strong facilitation, coordination, and people leadership skills
- Clear and concise communication with teams and leadership
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- High accountability, ownership, and commitment to continuous improvement
