Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Operations Transformation – Business Performance and Data Science will play a key leadership role in advancing this mission by leading initiatives that improve business performance, enable digital and AI-driven capabilities, and deliver measurable operational impact.

This role will lead a cross-functional India-based team spanning Operations Transformation, business performance, AI/data science enablement, data and information architecture, and Continuous Improvement 2.0 (CI + AI), in close partnership with global OTDS (Operations Transformation & Digital Strategy), Operations leaders, and enterprise technology teams.

The leader will translate strategy into execution by building team capability, driving delivery against strategic priorities, and ensuring solutions are adopted, scaled, and sustained. The role requires balanced leadership across transformation, business performance, AI/data enablement, people leadership, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Lead the AIN Capability

Lead and develop the India-based Operations Transformation and Business Performance team, establishing clear priorities, strong execution, and scalable ways of working across transformation, AI/data science enablement, business performance, and continuous improvement.

Lead Transformation and Business Performance Initiatives

Translate enterprise transformation priorities into actionable programs that improve operational efficiency, agility, performance visibility, and business value realization.

AI, Data, and Digital Enablement

Advance AI, analytics, automation, and data-centric capabilities that improve decision-making, reduce manual work, and enable scalable business outcomes. Support delivery of AI-enabled use cases leveraging Generative AI, enterprise data platforms, and modern information architecture principles.

Program and Portfolio Leadership

Manage transformation programs and strategic priorities, ensuring initiatives are aligned, sequenced, governed, and executed with measurable business impact and adoption outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with OTDS, Operations, Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI), and enterprise stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions across people, process, data, and technology domains.

Performance and Change Leadership

Establish metrics, dashboards, governance mechanisms, and value tracking approaches while driving organizational change management, capability building, and continuous improvement adoption.

Basic Qualifications

12-17 years of work experience in the related field

Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant business, operations, digital, or transformation experience

OR Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience

OR Doctorate degree and 4+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading operational transformation, business performance, or digital enablement initiatives in complex matrixed organizations

  • Experience applying AI, analytics, automation, or data science capabilities to solve business problems and improve operational outcomes

  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution and measurable business impact

  • Familiarity with enterprise data ecosystems, FAIR data principles, and scalable digital platforms

  • Experience working in regulated industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare

  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or continuous improvement methodologies

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and program management capabilities
