Job Description

As a Senior Solution Engineer specialized in ITOM/CMDB, you will act as a trusted advisor for our clients, helping them move from fragmented IT operations to a mature, unified IT Operations Management strategy; you will design robust Configuration Management Database architectures, lead the delivery of Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management solutions, and bridge the gap between infrastructure teams and business stakeholders.

If you don't yet have hands-on ITOM/CMDB experience, don't worry, we will provide comprehensive ServiceNow training and mentoring to set you up for success; what matters most is your infrastructure expertise and your genuine appetite for a client-facing, consultative role.

Your key responsibilities

  • Strategic Client Advisory: act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through the transition from fragmented IT operations to a mature, unified ITOM strategy;
  • CMDB & CSDM Design: architect and design Configuration Management Database (CMDB) strategies and Common Service Data Models (CSDM) tailored to clients' complex business services;
  • ITOM Solution Delivery: lead the implementation, configuration, and tuning of Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management solutions, with comprehensive ServiceNow training provided;
  • Infrastructure Integration: collaborate with client network, cloud, and security teams to ingest data from legacy monitoring systems into a centralized operational view;
  • Process Optimization: analyze existing ITIL processes and operational workflows to automate visibility, dependency mapping, and root-cause analysis for clients.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

Must-have:

  • Broad Infrastructure Knowledge: robust hands-on IT Infrastructure or Cloud ecosystems, including Windows/Linux servers, networking/security topologies, middleware, or AWS/Azure environments;
  • Monitoring & Observability : exposure to enterprise monitoring systems such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, SCOM, Prometheus, or Grafana;
  • Configuration Management Fundamentals: strong conceptual and practical understanding of CMDB environments, asset lifecycle management, and infrastructure dependency mapping;
  • Data Gathering & Inventory Automation: experience utilizing automated discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC, Cherwell), inventory scanners (e.g., Solarwinds), integrations (e.g., Intune, SCCM), or scripting methods to map network endpoints and infrastructure;
  • ITIL Framework Expertise: a solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL frameworks, specifically around configuration, incident, and event management;
  • Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.

Nice-to-have:

  • Legacy CMDB Platforms: previous administration or implementation experience with other configuration platforms such as BMC Atrium, GLPI, or Device42;
  • ServiceNow Exposure: baseline familiarity with the ServiceNow platform as an end-user, fulfiller, or basic administrator, though deep ITOM experience is not required;
  • Scripting Capabilities: practical knowledge of JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, or Bash to facilitate custom integrations and automation patterns;
  • Cloud or ITIL Certifications: formal credentials in cloud architecture (AWS/Azure) or ITIL v3/v4 foundations.
