Job Description
Workday HCM Functional Consultant – Roles & Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Human Capital Management (HCM) processes.
- Configure and maintain Workday HCM modules, including Core HCM, Staffing, Job Profiles, Positions, Organizations, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Talent, and Recruiting.
- Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to understand HR processes and recommend Workday best practices.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and configure the Workday application accordingly.
- Design and configure business processes, security roles, organizations, supervisory structures, and approval workflows.
- Configure calculated fields, custom reports, dashboards, and Workday-delivered reports to meet business reporting needs.
- Support data conversion, data validation, and data migration activities during implementation and upgrades.
- Perform tenant configuration, functional testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Prepare test scenarios, test scripts, and validate system functionality against business requirements.
- Collaborate with integration teams on inbound and outbound integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and third-party systems.
- Work closely with technical consultants to resolve configuration and integration issues.
- Support Workday release management by evaluating new features and recommending adoption of relevant functionality.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide functional support for Workday HCM applications.
- Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and enhancement requests within SLA timelines.
- Create and maintain functional documentation, configuration workbooks, process flows, and user guides.
- Deliver end-user training sessions and provide knowledge transfer to HR and business users.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Workday implementation, enhancement, rollout, and support projects across multiple business units.
- Coordinate with project managers, HR teams, payroll teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support change management initiatives and assist users during system adoption.
- Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities using Workday capabilities.

- Support integrations with Payroll, Active Directory, ERP, and third-party HR applications.
- Execute configuration migrations across Sandbox, Implementation, and Production tenants.
- Validate data loads and perform reconciliation activities.
- Support Workday biannual releases and regression testing.
- Provide post-go-live production support and continuous system enhancements.
- Collaborate with global HR teams to standardize business processes across regions
