General Background:

The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) team plays a strategic role in resource mobilization through individual giving and private partnerships. High-quality and reliable data are essential to ensure effective campaign execution, accurate donor segmentation, and strong relationship management.

Within this context, the Data Management team is responsible for maintaining data integrity, ensuring database organization, and supporting daily operations across key systems such as Salesforce and payment gateways.

The purpose of this internship is to support the Data Management team in daily data operations and system management, contributing to:

• Improved data quality and integrity
• Efficient donor segmentation for PSP campaigns
• Operational support for CRM (Salesforce) and payment systems

The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Data Management Associate.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Data Management and Salesforce: Perform updates, corrections, data cleaning, standardization and data enrichment.
• Support the creation and maintenance of donor records
• Assist in monitoring database integrity
• Donor Segmentation: Support creation of segmentation lists and data extraction under PSP team guidance and document segmentation processes for future use
• Payment Gateway Operations: Monitor transactions and support reconciliation and
adjustments.
• Data Cleaning: Execute deduplication, standardization, and organization tasks.
• Operational Support: Assist with ad hoc requests and process improvements.
• Collaborate with PSP and other internal teams when required

Expected Results

By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to:

• Contribute to improving overall database quality
• Deliver accurate and timely support to PSP segmentation needs
• Demonstrate understanding of data flows and systems (Salesforce and payment gateway)
• Support the organization and standardization of internal processes

Minimum qualifications required:

• Be a recent graduate (completed studies within one year of applying to this internship) or have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies school program in a relevant field (Data Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics or related fields) from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO;
• Interest in data management, systems, and CRM tools
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail, analytical skills, and interest in data.
• Fluency in Portuguese and intermediate communication skills in English.
• Desirable familiarity with databases and CRM tools (Excel, Salesforce, Power BI.).

Disclaimer

To be eligible for a UNHCR internship, applicants must be current undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. students, or recent graduates who completed their studies within the last two years at an IAU/UNESCO-accredited university. Candidates of any nationality may apply, but they must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study in a field relevant to UNHCR’s work, demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum B2 level (with additional UN language requirements depending on the duty station), and must not have immediate family members employed by UNHCR as staff.
