Mechanical Systems Repair Specialist

Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM; Onsite
Salary Range: Hourly from $30.45 to $35.12; Annually from $63,580 to $73,331
*Salary placement is dependent on education and experience

ABOUT THE POSITION
Provide building maintenance services in a professional manner by providing consistent quality services to ensure a clean, safe and environmentally sound operation of buildings for all students, employees, and visitors to Normandale Community College. Operate and maintain campus heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and other mechanical and electrical systems to improve efficiency and economy. Perform minor repairs to systems and equipment, including plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical and pneumatic and other equipment. This position is responsible for maintaining the environmental climate of all campus buildings and spaces including temperature, ventilation, and humidity to provide a healthy and comfortable environment. This position is a part of the Facilities Emergency call list and will occasionally be encouraged to respond to related emergency situations.
This position will actively advance the college’s strategic goals, including achieving equity in educational outcomes and supporting a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL: These qualifications are required to move forward; as such, (ensure your application contains descriptions of your education and work experience sufficient to demonstrate competency in each of the following):
State of Minnesota Boiler and Engineer License, Special or obtain within 6 months of hiring.
Knowledge and experience of operation and maintenance of variety of hot water heating plants and components
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in general methods and practices, equipment, and materials of mechanical, masonry, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lock smith, and painting trades.
Knowledge of building automation systems
Knowledge and applied experience of facility maintenance software systems
Knowledge and application of basic math, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Experience In Electronic Access Systems
Basic team building skills, and the ability to effectively communicate, work with others of diverse backgrounds, exercise independent judgement, and use tact and diplomacy.
PREFERRED:
Current 2nd class grade C engineer license
Five (5) or more years of experience with heating and cooling systems
Experience in Building Automation system
Experience with a facility maintenance management software system
