  • Establish trust with assigned students, upon admission, develop rapport and a working relationship that includes regular meetings, outreach messaging, careful documentation, tracking of student progress, and assessment of student success.

  • Provide timely intervention when students are identified as needing support through progress report campaigns, early alerts, referral from faculty or staff, or other retention efforts.

  • Assess students’ needs and provide appropriate academic and personal coaching, and, when necessary, connect students to appropriate campus and/or community resources.

Support and Execution

  • Uphold the integrity of academic and curricular policies established by the university, college, and departments/programs. Exercise informed judgment to apply exceptions when warranted to ensure uniform academic policy practices and standards and timely degree progress for students.

  • Develop and initiate programs designed to support academic success for students in special populations (including but not limited to) transfer students, provisionally admitted students, first generation students, international students, those academically exploring, or students served by Multicultural Student Services and TRIO.
