Senior Sustainability Consultant (Saudi National)

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this strategic role, you will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive sustainability initiatives that align with organizational goals and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives. You will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, driving meaningful environmental and social impact while ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement across all business operations.

• Develop and execute sustainability strategies that integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into organizational operations and decision-making processes
• Analyze and monitor the organization's carbon footprint, environmental impact, and resource consumption; recommend and implement reduction strategies and efficiency improvements
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international environmental regulations and sustainability standards applicable to operations in Saudi Arabia
• Prepare comprehensive ESG reports and sustainability disclosures for stakeholders, investors, and regulatory bodies using industry-standard frameworks and reporting methodologies
• Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal departments to identify sustainability opportunities, assess risks, and drive organizational change initiatives
• Conduct sustainability assessments and audits of business processes, supply chains, and vendor practices to identify areas for improvement and optimization
• Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and community organizations, to advance sustainability objectives and build strategic partnerships
• Stay current with emerging sustainability trends, regulatory changes, and best practices; provide thought leadership and recommendations to senior management
• Manage sustainability projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and measurable outcomes
• Develop training programs and awareness campaigns to promote sustainability culture and practices throughout the organization

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting, environmental management, or corporate sustainability roles
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and ESG frameworks
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and sustainability standards applicable in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region
• Demonstrated experience with carbon accounting, lifecycle assessment, and environmental impact analysis
• Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, or similar standards
• Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills with proficiency in sustainability reporting tools and software
• Strong project management capabilities with experience leading cross-functional initiatives
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
• Saudi Arabian national (as per position requirements)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional)
• Experience with Vision 2030 initiatives and Saudi Arabia's sustainability goals
• Knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainable supply chain management
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and corporate social responsibility programs
• Familiarity with sustainability software platforms and data management systems
• Track record of successfully implementing sustainability programs that resulted in measurable environmental and business benefits
