Main Job Purpose

We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to lead and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with Unilever standards, food safety requirements, and regulatory obligations. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving a strong quality culture across the site, maintaining systems that ensure consumer safety and product quality, and leading quality improvement initiatives to address customer and consumer concerns.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and functional expertise for QA and site personnel

  • Manage and coach/develop the site quality assurance team

  • Maintain and lead improvements to the site Quality and QMS

  • Drive achievement of site quality KPIs and support the Site Leadership Team in delivering overall site performance targets.

  • Ensure compliance with FSSC22000 and other site regulatory requirements

  • Accountable for HACCP reviews delivered on time

  • Accountable for investigation and timely response to complaints and resulting improvements to QMS

  • Oversee compliance with GMP and cleaning standards

  • Coordinate and carry out internal and external audits for the site

  • Prepare audit documentation and ensure a timely response to audit findings

  • Provide technical support to production

  • Maintain contact with the R&D and engineering team on new product development and engineering projects on quality matters

  • Ensure that global and regional quality initiatives are introduced on site and related KPIs and KAIs are tracked

  • External stakeholder management – liaising with regulatory bodies when required

  • Quality budget management

Leadership, People& Culture 

  • Deploys Unilever Quality strategy and goals through site-specific projects and targets

  • Provides Quality leadership to influence Site Quality culture through activities to create passion for products and brands, visibility for quality, and coaching of site leadership

  • Builds site quality and consumer safety capability through deploying the necessary training and coaching of the factory team

  • Coach and develop the Quality team to have the required level of skills and knowledge as appropriate to support site quality programs

  • Represent Site Quality in quality meetings, forums and cross-functional networks as required

  • Participates as lead for Site Quality in virtual site network meetings and forums

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance within FMCG, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical or a similarly regulated environment

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, Quality Management Systems, GMP and auditing practices

  • Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions

  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with FSSC 22000, ISO standards or equivalent food safety systems

  • SAP experience will be highly regarded
