About Us
We're Queue, the world's first fully autonomous robotic pharmacy. We go from sealed wholesale bottles to filled, verified prescription vials with zero human involvement.
We built Queue because no one should ever have to wait in line for the medicines they need. One in three US pharmacies has shut down. Pharmacists are overworked to a breaking point. And patients are paying the price. Queue fixes that. Pharmacists get to practice pharmacy again — counseling patients, catching interactions, doing the work only they can do. And patients get their prescriptions in 60 seconds or less, any time, anywhere.
We’re backed by over $18 million from Alleycorp, Riot Ventures, Ubiquity Ventures, House Capital, and others who believe the pharmacy system is broken and that robotics can fix it. Queue was founded by Nick Desai (6x founder, previously CEO of Heal) and Joshua Liu (previously Tesla, Waymo, and Zipline).
About the role
As a Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer, you will own the end-to-end design of complex electrical subsystems — from requirements capture through schematic, layout, prototyping, and production bring-up — on a first-of-its-kind autonomous robotic pharmacy dispensing system. This role carries significant technical ownership and offers the opportunity to shape both the hardware architecture and the team's engineering standards in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
What You'll Do
Own the full lifecycle of electrical subsystem design across power distribution, motor drive, sensor interfaces, and mixed-signal circuits — from initial requirements through schematic, layout, prototyping, and production bring-up
Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials, following established design and release processes while driving improvements to team-wide standards for documentation, layout, and test coverage
Evaluate and qualify sensors, actuators, and power management components for use in a regulated pharmaceutical environment
Define and execute testing specifications across subsystems to ensure each component meets intended functionality and safe operating conditions; document findings, root causes, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement
Investigate and resolve challenging hardware issues across prototyping and production, including signal integrity, thermal, and EMC problems
Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers to co-develop interface definitions, connector pinouts, harness routing, and integration test plans that simplify system integration
Apply DFM, DFT, and supply chain considerations to ensure designs are production-ready from the start
What You Bring
5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with hands-on design work across multiple product development cycles and demonstrated technical leadership on multi-board or multi-subsystem products
Track record of owning complex electrical subsystems end-to-end — from requirements through schematic, layout, prototyping, and production bring-up
Experience designing and validating circuits for power distribution, motor control, sensing, or communication interfaces in electromechanical systems
Deep expertise in one or more core domains — power electronics, motor drives, sensor interfaces, or mixed-signal design — with working breadth across the others
Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM management using industry-standard tools such as Altium, KiCad, or equivalent
Strong debugging and bench skills, with the ability to bring up new boards, characterize performance, and drive issues to root cause across signal integrity, thermal, and EMC challenges
Experience driving design reviews and contributing to team-wide standards for schematics, layout, documentation, and test coverage
Familiarity with compliance testing and design practices related to EMC, safety, or environmental standards
Strong documentation habits, with an emphasis on capturing design rationale, test results, and lessons learned
