About Us
We're Queue, the world's first fully autonomous robotic pharmacy. We go from sealed wholesale bottles to filled, verified prescription vials with zero human involvement.
We built Queue because no one should ever have to wait in line for the medicines they need. One in three US pharmacies has shut down. Pharmacists are overworked to a breaking point. And patients are paying the price. Queue fixes that. Pharmacists get to practice pharmacy again — counseling patients, catching interactions, doing the work only they can do. And patients get their prescriptions in 60 seconds or less, any time, anywhere.
We’re backed by over $18 million from Alleycorp, Riot Ventures, Ubiquity Ventures, House Capital, and others who believe the pharmacy system is broken and that robotics can fix it. Queue was founded by Nick Desai (6x founder, previously CEO of Heal) and Joshua Liu (previously Tesla, Waymo, and Zipline).
About the role
Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for real-time motor control, dispensing sequences, and sensor acquisition on the Rmix hardware platform
Implement communication protocols and interfaces between subsystem controllers, host processors, and cloud connectivity modules
Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop test fixtures to validate firmware behavior against dispensing accuracy and safety requirements
Debug and resolve firmware issues across the full stack from register-level peripheral configuration through application-layer state machines
Collaborate with electrical engineers on hardware bring-up, contributing to schematic reviews and defining firmware-driven test coverage for new board revisions
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in firmware or embedded software engineering, with hands-on development across multiple product cycles
Experience developing real-time embedded firmware for motor control, sensor acquisition, dispensing or actuation sequences, or similar electromechanical applications
Proficiency in C and/or C++ for resource-constrained microcontrollers, with working knowledge of embedded Linux a plus
Solid debugging skills across the full firmware stack — from register-level peripheral configuration through application-layer state machines and communication protocols
Previous successful collaboration with electrical engineers on hardware bring-up, schematic reviews, and defining firmware-driven test coverage for new boards
Experience writing and maintaining unit tests, integration tests, or hardware-in-the-loop test fixtures for embedded systems
Strong documentation habits, with an emphasis on capturing interface specifications, state machine behavior, and known limitations
