We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon to join our multidisciplinary team in the UAE. The successful candidate will diagnose, treat, and surgically manage disorders affecting the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. The Consultant Neurosurgeon will provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, elective, and emergency neurosurgical care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
- Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures involving the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves.
- Manage conditions including brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, spinal disorders, intracranial hemorrhage, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, degenerative spine diseases, congenital abnormalities, and peripheral nerve disorders.
- Interpret diagnostic investigations including MRI, CT scans, cerebral angiography, and neurophysiological studies.
- Conduct outpatient consultations and provide comprehensive inpatient care.
- Participate in trauma and emergency neurosurgical services, including on-call rotations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and oversee postoperative care and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with neurologists, orthopedic spine surgeons, intensivists, radiologists, oncologists, rehabilitation specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, expected outcomes, and preventive care.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and continuing medical education (CME).
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare authority regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical standards.
Requirements
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- MS/DNB in General Surgery or equivalent.
- MCh/DNB/Fellowship/CCT/Board Certification in Neurosurgery.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH Consultant license.
- Minimum 8–10 years of post-specialty experience, including experience as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in a tertiary care hospital.
- Fellowship training in Spine Surgery, Skull Base Surgery, Neuro-oncology, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Vascular Neurosurgery, or Functional Neurosurgery is an advantage.
