Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I - Western to join our culinary team in Lucknow, India. As an entry-level position in our kitchen, the Commis I will assist in the preparation and cooking of Western cuisine dishes while learning and developing essential culinary skills.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Western dishes, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
- Support senior chefs in cooking and plating Western cuisine menu items
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Learn and apply basic Western cooking techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs
- Assist in the proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared foods
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
- Help with kitchen inventory and restocking supplies as needed
- Adapt Western recipes to incorporate local ingredients and cater to local preferences in Lucknow
- Participate in daily kitchen briefings and contribute ideas for menu improvements
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas
Qualifications
- HM diploma / Degree or equivalent required; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of Western cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and its proper use
Additional Information
2-3 Years of experience in hotel catering sales.
