Electrical & Multi-Craft Maintenance

Posted 3 days ago

OfficeMascot, Tennessee, United States

Job Summary

We are looking for a go-getting, self-starting Electrical & Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician. While your primary expertise is in electrical troubleshooting, this is a hands-on, well-rounded position. You must be just as comfortable turning wrenches, rebuilding precision mechanical systems, and replacing pneumatic cylinders as you are reading a wiring diagram.

Most of the equipment in our facility is custom-built by our own maintenance team. Because of this, the ability to fluently read and interpret both complex electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints is critical. Your main priority is keeping production running smoothly across all systems (electrical, mechanical, and fluid power). However, as you master the floor, there is a clear pathway to expand your skills. We want to train you up in controls and automation so you can actively contribute to the modification and future builds of our custom machinery.

Why Join Us?

  • Proprietary Equipment: You will have a direct hand in troubleshooting, testing, and calibrating highly proprietary, custom-built equipment.
  • Rewarding Growth: Guaranteed pay raises every few months for your first two years.
  • Controls Training: You will receive hands-on training to transition deeper into PLC controls, automation, and machine modification.

Compensation

  • Pay: $33 - $35 / hr + Overtime availability
  • Raises: Guaranteed raises every few months for the first 24 months.

Shift

  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Maintenance: Lead the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial electrical systems, including sensors, motors, low-voltage wiring, and drives.
  • Multi-Craft Maintenance: Act as the frontline problem solver for proprietary production equipment. Diagnose and rebuild mechanical components, including conveyors, ball screws, and precision mechanical systems with tight tolerances.
  • Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Hands-on troubleshooting, rebuilding, and maintenance of pumps, cylinders, actuators, valves, and associated fluid power systems.
  • Schematics & Blueprints: Accurately read, interpret, and navigate complex electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to diagnose issues on custom machinery.
  • Equipment Development & Builds: Collaborate with the team to help install, test, and calibrate new, custom-designed production equipment.
  • PLC & Controls Support: Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs and control systems, actively learning and taking on more advanced controls work over time.
  • Process Ownership: Act as a self-starter—identify root causes of breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance on wear components, and execute fixes without needing to be micromanaged.

Requirements

Required

  • Experience: 3+ years of multi-craft industrial maintenance experience, with a heavy focus on electrical troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical & Fluid Power Skills: Extensive hands-on experience repairing precision mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Technical Literacy: High proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and fluid power diagrams.
  • Mindset: A highly motivated, go-getter attitude with a proven track record of taking initiative and working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong ability to diagnose complex, cross-functional issues (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic) on the fly to minimize downtime.

Preferred

  • Controls Ambition: Foundational knowledge of PLCs and a strong desire to learn automation, controls, and custom machine building.
  • Custom Machinery: Previous experience working with, maintaining, or modifying proprietary or heavily customized industrial equipment.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Paid time off, holidays, and personal leave
  • Ongoing training and development
