Job Description
NHS Band 4 Salary: £28,392 - £31,157 per annum
Hours per Week: Full time, 37.5
Position type : Temporary 12 months
We are looking for a Registered Band 4 Dental Nurse to join us part time in our busy Maxillofacial Department. Assisting our Consultants and clinicians working across all specialities, which include Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial, Restorative and Orthodontics, on a rotational basis. Ideally the candidate would need to be an excellent team member and communicator, self motivated and caring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and maintain high standards of care for all patients with physical disabilities and patients of the unit severe/complex medical conditions, including cancer.
- To liaise and support MDT in a flexible and friendly manner.
- To provide patients with support and to maintain high standards of patient assistance including treatment and care, adhering to hospital and dental progress reports nursing procedures.
- Preparation of surgery to include Maintain the professional approach necessary instruments and equipment required by the Department.
- To undertake the care and cleaning of Maintain the Trust standards in infection the instruments used. Reporting all items control in need of repair or replacement.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Dental Nurse with a current GDC registration.
- Must have experience in all clinical aspects of Dental Nursing.
Desirable
- Experience in Oral Surgery, advanced restorative dentistry, orthodontics & other dental specialities.
- Hospital experience or previous experience of cancer patients is preferred but not essential.
- Post qualification certificate in radiology, orthodontics, implantology, oral health education, special care would be desirable but not essential.

- Recent or currently working in a clinical dental setting, nursing for a variety of dental procedures.
Desirable
- Hospital experience or previous experience of cancer patients.

- Patient understanding and caring attitude

- Knowledge & understanding of infection control

- Respectful toward all colleagues and team member’s
- Ability to work effectively within the wider multidisciplinary team
- Able to work well under pressure adapting as needed.
