SMT Digitalization & Automation Project Lead

Job Description

Software Development 

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain industrial software applications supporting manufacturing operations. 
• Develop web applications, APIs, backend services, and database solutions using approved development platforms and technologies. 
• Implement software enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements for existing applications. 

System Integration 

• Develop and maintain integrations between manufacturing systems, equipment, databases, MES, ERP, and enterprise applications. 
• Design and implement secure data exchange mechanisms and APIs to support business process automation. 

Data Engineering & Analytics 

• Build and maintain manufacturing data pipelines, datasets, and reporting solutions. 
• Develop dashboards and data visualization applications to support operational monitoring and decision making. 
• Support data collection, cleansing, validation, and transformation activities. 

Application Support 

• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for software-related issues. 
• Monitor application health, performance, and reliability. 
• Maintain technical documentation, source code repositories, and deployment procedures. 

Continuous Improvement 

• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes through software and data solutions. 
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency and manufacturing digitalization capabilities. 
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, cybersecurity requirements, and digital governance policies. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in leadership and project management.
• Preferably candidates with hands-on experience in SMT (equipment & processes).
• Strong team player with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in programming (Python, SQL, JavaScript) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Able to work independently, align with team goals, and lead by example.
• Flexible, cost-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement.
