About the Opportunity

Located within the Provost portfolio, the Online Strategy Unit (OSU) drives the creation and implementation of a transformative vision for online education programming through strategic leadership and oversight of the growth and expansion of the University’s online learning programs.  

Building on Griffith’s already well-recognised synchronous and hybrid online offerings, the Unit is developing a suite of degrees in partnership with all Academic Groups for delivery in a cutting edge, high quality, technology-enabled and student-focused learning design model. 

Leveraging evolving technologies such as Microsoft Power Automate Microsoft Copilot/Agents and other artificial intelligence, the Data and Automation Analyst will collaborate on exciting innovative projects across the unit influencing the way we use data and automation to implement practical solutions to promote efficiencies and scalability of work processes.

This position will be required to work with large datasets across multiple systems to generate and improve insights in collaboration with stakeholders to inform decision making and continuous improvement across the business unit. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of university systems and technologies (PeopleSoft, Canvas, ServiceNow) and leverage these platforms to drive process improvements.
  • Work with large datasets across multiple systems to generate and improve insights in collaboration with stakeholders to inform decision making and continuous improvement across the business unit.
  • Provide advice regarding leveraging technologies including artificial intelligence to identify and drive efficiencies across the business unit.
  • Implement automation opportunities across business processes by analysing processes, workflows and data, collaborating with stakeholders to assess feasibility, developing automated solutions, and ensuring successful deployment of solutions to promote scalability.
  • Promote technology adoption and automation by sharing ideas, showcasing practical examples, and supporting the dissemination of innovative solutions that enhance processes and the student experience.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the student journey and identify opportunities for intervention to improve student engagement and retention.
  • Work with Digital Solutions to continuously improve data management and providing support of any system changes.
  • Work with Digital Solutions to prepare, support and champion business cases for larger system integrations or automation initiatives that require project governance, resourcing or formal delivery pathways
  • Ensure compliance with governance requirements by maintaining data quality standards, updating data documentation, and assisting with routine checks to ensure information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with university policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a point of contact in support of program stakeholder engagement strategies and plans. 
  • May be required to take on other responsibilities, commensurate with the expectations of a role at this level, which contribute to the overall objectives of the business unit.
  • Support compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and procedures, including equity and health & safety and exhibit good practice in relation to same. 
  • Be a leading example of the principles and values embodied in the University’s Code of Conduct, and behave, act and communicate at all times to reflect fairness, ethics and professionalism.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of a relevant postgraduate qualification or progress towards a postgraduate qualification and relevant experience or an equivalent combination of extensive project management experience and management expertise.

What we can offer

This is a full time, continuing position based at our Logan campus.  As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other campuses.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary HEW 7 – Base range - $104,504.60 - $113,219.43 + 17% super. Full package range - $122,270.38 - $132,466.73.
