Job Opportunity

  • Opportunity for a hands-on, people-centric HR Manager to support Johor operations.
  • Play a key role in delivering end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with Malaysian labour laws.
  • Act as a trusted HR advisor to site leadership and collaborate with APAC HR Operations to drive consistent HR practices.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee payroll review to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory and internal requirements
  • Provide guidance on Malaysian labour laws, HR policies, and best practices
  • Lead and support internal and external HR audits and manage foreign worker administration
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Conduct HR orientation and ensure smooth onboarding experiences for new employees
  • Manage employee and industrial relations matters, including disciplinary cases, investigations, and grievances
  • Advise managers on performance, conduct, and workplace issues (e.g., absenteeism, harassment, discrimination)
  • Support the full performance management cycle and employee development initiatives
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and HR programs related to wellbeing and culture
  • Partner with HR Operations on systems, process improvements, and regional/global HR projects
  • Maintain HR records, reports, and ensure effective HR service delivery

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources or relevant field (HR certification preferred)
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, ideally in manufacturing or fast-paced environments
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and labour/union relations
  • Experience handling payroll reviews, HR audits, IR cases, and full HR lifecycle processes
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and coaching skills
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ability to manage sensitive matters
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining service quality
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems, databases, and reporting/metrics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and leadership

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in regional or APAC HR environments
  • Exposure to HR transformation, standardisation, or centralisation initiatives
  • Experience managing foreign worker administration and compliance
  • Familiarity with engagement, wellbeing, and culture-building programs
