Maintenance Mechanic Operator, Laundry

Job Description

Responsible for the preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of laundry and valet laundry equipment as well as associated mechanical and electrical support infrastructure.

• Good upkeep, repair and maintenance of all laundry equipment including, but not limited to washers, dryers, feeders, ironers and any other equipment or machinery in the laundry areas.
• Basic pneumatic, plumbing, electrical and steam system knowledge
• Good upkeep, repair and maintenance of laundry and valet laundry equipment
• Maintain adequate inventory and support the ordering of spare parts to maintain sufficient on-site inventory to support normal operation
• Health & Safety in your work area
• Cleanliness of equipment including cleaning inside equipment
• If required, will assist the Engineering Dept. in other trade areas as required
• Public Holiday, weekends or evening work may be required

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Industrial Mechanical or manufacturers training certification is an asset
• Mfgr (e.g. Braun) laundry equipment training certificate is an asset
• WHMIS & OHSA
• Excellent customer service
• Communicate fluently in the English language

Physical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following:

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
