District Trainer Core Competencies
- Supports District Recruiting Program
Implements a robust recruiting program for the District by sourcing candidates, managing Smart Recruiters activity, structuring and attending job/career fairs, and conducting initial screening interviews of potential candidates. Support hiring managers in progression through the hiring process in Smart Recruiters and works with District ERC for final qualification/screening of candidates.
- Supports District Onboarding Program
Works closely with management teams to offer the best onboarding experience to new hires, to include presenting the employee with an onboarding training plan on their first day. Ensures that new hires progress through general and role-specific new hire training in a timely manner.
- Supports District Training Program
Implements a robust training program for the district that meets employee and district training needs. Coordinates the district’s training schedule, delivers District Trainer-led courses and ensures timely record keeping of internal and external training. Assists management teams with creating and managing employee-training plans and supports development of training materials to meet local training needs. Manages district compliance with training requirements to include: annually required training, NEO training, 52 hours training, OPA-required training, and dangerous goods expiration dates. Proficient in all learning functions of the PDC, acting as a PDC expert for the district.
- Supports Employee Performance Cycle
Assists management teams with the mechanics of documenting 1:1s and employee performance evaluations in the PDC. Monitors timely completion of employee performance evaluations and 1:1s according to Expeditors and local requirements, and directs managers to performance reporting in the PDC.
- Support Employee Growth
Assists employees and managers with properly documenting relevant professional and/or career development goals in the PDC. Actively promotes employee growth in the district, helping to identify training and development opportunities for employees.
District Trainer Job-Specific Tasks and Duties
- Create onboarding plans

- Support employees and managers with PDC and training & development tools
