Job Description

As a Server, you are an ambassador of our luxury dining experience, delivering intuitive, personalized service that exceeds guest expectations and leaves a lasting impression.

You will combine exceptional product knowledge, attention to detail, and warm professionalism to guide guests through every stage of their dining experience. Working collaboratively with our Culinary team, you will help create an atmosphere that is elegant, welcoming, and distinctly reflective of Rimrock Banff's commitment to excellence.

Start Date: July 2026
Contract Type: Seasonal and Permanent available
Pay Rate: $16 per hour

What You'll Be Doing

Guest Connection 

  • Deliver exceptional, personalized service throughout every stage of the guest journey, anticipating needs before they arise.
  • Welcome guests warmly, establish rapport, and create an inviting and memorable dining experience.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of food, and beverage offerings, confidently making recommendations tailored to guest preferences.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience, responding promptly and professionally to requests or concerns.

Operational Excellence 

  • Accurately explain menu items, ingredients, and accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Prepare dining areas before service, ensuring tables are properly set and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently throughout service.
  • Assist with bar service including pouring wine, beer, and mixing simple cocktails. 
  • Polish glassware and keep bar drop zones organized and clear. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Food & Beverage operation.

Team & Culture 

  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, precision, and hospitality within a high-performing service team. 
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests, colleagues and visitors.
  • Embody the values of care, excellence, and purpose in every guest interaction. 
  • Remain composed and efficient during peak volume with a consistent, professional demeanor. 

Qualifications

What You Bring 

  • Alberta ProServe Certification required. 
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or lounge. 
  • Strong beverage knowledge, including cocktails, beer, and wine. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and organized in fast-paced environments. 
  • Comfort using Micros POS and handling cash/card transactions. 

Bonus If You Bring 

  • Previous experience in a fine-dining restaurant
  • Experience working in Bow Valley or Banff hospitality
  • Genuine interest in developing deeper beverage knowledge

While social and upbeat in guest interactions, you prefer meaningful, respectful communication over showmanship—and your professionalism shines through in every detail.

Physical Demands 

  • Continuous walking and standing throughout long shifts 
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 11lbs / 5kg; occasional lifting up to 22lbs / 10kg 
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and maneuvering in a crowded, dynamic environment 
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-noise, social atmosphere 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
