Position Summary
- Toss Securities is preparing to enter the Japanese market and build a differentiated digital brokerage experience for local investors. As the **Service Manager for U.S. or Japan Equities**, you will lead the design and execution of our end-to-end Equity trading and post-trade operations. You will work across cross-functional teams—operations, product, compliance, and tech—to localize and implement a seamless brokerage experience for Japanese retail customers. This is a hands-on role for someone who not only understands the regulatory and infrastructural complexity of cross-border investing, but who is also excited to build from scratch in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the service planning and operational setup for U.S. and Japan equities: from order routing to post-trade settlement and entitlement
- Design and operate the full trade flow across the ecosystem: Broker → Exchange → Market Participant → DTC (Depository Trust Company)
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to design core brokerage systems and interfaces (e.g., position ledger, order management, entitlement logic)
- Identify regulatory, operational, or infrastructure risks, and resolve issues collaboratively with compliance and internal control teams
- Coordinate with global custodians and local partners to ensure operational readiness and stability
- Prepare internal policies, manuals, and user terms required for launch and ongoing supervision
Qualifications (Required)
- 5+ years of operational experience in U.S. or Japan equities at a securities firm or brokerage
- Deep understanding of end-to-end U.S. or Japan stock processing: order flow, settlement, entitlement, and corporate actions
- Practical experience collaborating with IT or product teams to build brokerage systems
- Business-level Japanese; English proficiency preferred but not mandatory if candidate brings deep domain expertise and operational fluency
Qualification (Preferred)
- Experience working on Japan-based global brokerage services or cross-border equity platforms
- Familiarity with Japanese regulatory frameworks and operational linkages to entities such as JASDEC and JSDA
- Prior exposure to setting up services for Japanese retail investors (e.g., tax treatment, dividend handling, entitlement disclosure)
- Direct experience interfacing with or operating within infrastructure providers such as DTC, global custodians, or exchanges
What We Look For
- Detail-oriented and operationally rigorous, with a strong sense of accountability
- A strong passion for creating systems and an environment that make investing easier for individual investors
- Effective communicator across tech, operations, compliance, and external partners
- Excited by the challenge of redefining overseas investment infrastructure in Japan
