LOCKROSE is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Planner to support the successful delivery of major Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects across the energy sector.

This is a pivotal role focused on the strategic planning, coordination, and performance monitoring of complex infrastructure programmes, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-efficient delivery. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and project management to develop and maintain integrated project schedules aligned with both operational and commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in risk identification, schedule assurance, and performance forecasting, while promoting planning best practice throughout the project lifecycle.

This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to critical national infrastructure projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

·       Produce and maintain programmes aligned with NEC Clause 31 and Clause 32 requirements, ensuring acceptance criteria are met

·       Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams

·       Monitor project performance and update schedules to reflect changes in scope, resources, productivity, constraints, and project risks

·       Analyse project data to identify critical path impacts, potential delays, and emerging schedule risks, recommending corrective and recovery actions

·       Undertake Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and other delay analysis techniques to assess the effects of compensation events, variations, and unforeseen issues on completion dates and key milestones

·       Assess and support the management of Compensation Events (CEs), including evaluation of programme impacts, entitlement, and schedule implications in accordance with NEC contracts

·       Ensure compliance with NEC contract processes, including early warnings, compensation events, programme submissions, and contractual reporting obligations

·       Manage and review Early Warning Notices (EWNs), ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and incorporated into programme updates

·       Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure and track project performance (e.g. SV, CV, SPI, CPI)

·       Provide clear project controls insight to Project Managers by highlighting variances, forecast trends, and performance risks

·       Support effective resource planning and workflow optimisation

·       Prepare and present progress reports, schedule updates, and planning analysis to stakeholders and senior leadership

Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and project controls methodologies
