Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in transforming complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for our management team. You will be the go-to expert for Power BI, responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our controlling-related dashboards and reports. Your work will directly support critical decision-making processes related to headcount, cost management, and profitability analysis.
The ideal candidate is a hybrid professional who is as comfortable writing SQL queries and navigating SAP data as they are designing intuitive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards.
Your tasks:
► BI Development & Visualization: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) for Controlling, Finance, and HR.
► Data Integration & Transformation: Connect to, query, and transform data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, SAP (via Fiori/Analysis for Microsoft Excel), and flat files (Excel/CSV).
► Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models within Power BI to ensure performance, accuracy, and a single source of truth for our controlling data.
► SQL & Database Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and aggregate data. Work with various databases across the company to ensure data integrity and availability.
► Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with stakeholders in Controlling, Finance, and Senior Management to understand their requirements, translate business questions into technical specifications, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
► Process Automation: Utilize tools like Excel Macros and Power Query to automate repetitive data preparation and reporting tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy.
► Reporting & Presentation Support: Prepare data visualizations and reports to support management presentations, strategic planning, and ad-hoc analysis for cost, profit, and headcount-related decisions.
► Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain clear documentation for all data sources, models, and reports. Champion data visualization best practices within the organization.
Qualifications
► Proven experience as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or a similar role with a strong focus on data visualization.
► Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling. A strong portfolio of past projects is highly desirable.
► Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
► Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and experience with writing and maintaining basic Macros (VBA).
► Experience extracting data from SAP systems, preferably using tools like Analysis for Microsoft Excel or familiarity with Fiori apps.
► Demonstrated ability to work with Controlling, Finance, or HR data (e.g., P&L, cost centers, headcount, budget vs. actual).
► Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
► Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
► At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field.
