About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Condition Monitoring Technician based in the South West, working on one of our client's sites. The Condition Monitoring Technician is responsible for the routine collection, analysis, and reporting of asset condition data across the client's plant and equipment, supporting the site's reliability and asset integrity programme.

Working across vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography, the role identifies developing equipment defects early, enabling planned intervention and reducing unplanned downtime in line with the clients maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

·         Conduct routine condition monitoring surveys across rotating and static assets, including vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.

·         Trend and interpret condition data to identify developing faults, escalating findings in line with severity and site alarm criteria.

·         Produce clear, actionable technical reports and communicate findings to maintenance planning and reliability teams.

·         Maintain and update asset hierarchies, measurement routes, and historical trend data within the site's CM platform.

·         Support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures, providing condition monitoring data as supporting evidence.

·         Coordinate with planners and schedulers to ensure CM findings are actioned through the work management process.

·         Participate in continuous improvement of the CM program.

·         Work safely in accordance with site HSE requirements.

Requirements

Essential:

·         Trade certificate or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation discipline (or equivalent field experience).

·         ISO 18436 certification in at least one CM discipline — e.g.:

o   Category II Vibration Analysis or Higher

o   Category I Thermography or Higher

o   Category I Lubrication Analyst or Higher

Desirable:

·         Multi-discipline ISO 18436 certification across vibration, thermography, ultrasound, and lubrication.

·         Working towards Category III certification in a primary CM discipline.

Experience

·         Minimum 2–5 years' hands-on experience in condition monitoring or reliability engineering support, ideally in a heavy industrial, mining, mineral processing, or refining environment.

·         Demonstrated experience with CM software platforms (e.g. Bently Nevada System 1, Emerson AMS, Azima DLI, SKF @ptitude, or similar) and/or purpose-built inspection/CM reporting tools.

·         Experience working within CMMS/EAM systems for work order generation, notification, and history capture.

·         Exposure to a formal condition-based or reliability-centred maintenance program.

·

About You

·         Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret trend data and distinguish genuine defects from noise/false positives.

·         Sound understanding of rotating equipment failure modes (bearings, gearboxes, pumps, fans, motors, couplings).

·         Clear written and verbal communication for reporting to multi-disciplinary maintenance and engineering teams.

·         Self-motivated and capable of managing an independent survey schedule across a large site.

·         Comfortable working outdoors and in industrial environments

·         High level commitment to safety, compliance and procedural discipline

·         Resides within the South West region of Western Australia with Full Australian Working Rights

Required Qualifications and Tickets

·         Current driver's licence
