About the position
This entry level position handles carrier inquiries, dispatching of carriers, and track and trace; i.e. route updates.
What you’ll be doing
  • Ensure that all inventory is moved on time and at a fair cost; coordinate, manage, and track shipments using software platforms.
  • Evaluate incoming pick-up and delivery requests and determine carrier assignments; seek out and solve potential transportation problems with urgency and professionalism.
  • Resolve complex logistics issues utilizing third party carriers.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with carrier partners.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communication in a manner consistent with Carvana Values.
  • Reconcile delivery information with inventory reports.
  • Perform administrative operational duties such as securing gate passes, vehicle tags and Dealshields.
  • Qualify carrier on the phone for other potential routes and preliminary information to pass to “Carrier Ops”
What the Job Requires
To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years experience in logistics dispatch or routing.
  • 1+ years experience in brokerage-related field, inside sales, customer service.
  • 1+ years experience with scheduling software, demand modeling, transportation management systems and/or geographic information systems.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to effectively manage varying workload requirements; can shift gears comfortably, manage competing demands, delays or unexpected events.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues with guidance from others.
