Overview
We are looking for an organised and proactive Project Coordinator to work closely with the Engineering Manager, and engineering teams, on a 12 month fixed term contract to support the planning, coordination, and reporting of projects across the Software Engineering and Project Engineering teams based in Milton Keynes. This role will provide structure and visibility across multiple projects helping to ensure budgets are tracked, resources are used effectively, and delivery impacts are clearly understood. Key responsibilities include:
Tracking progress, milestones, dependencies, and risks across ongoing work
Tracking engineering timesheets to ensure accuracy against activity
Tracking spend against planned activity
Identifying and highlighting resource conflicts and delivery impacts
Supporting prioritisation of decisions by outlining trade‑offs and dependencies
Producing clear and concise project and budget reports for management review
Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
Assisting Engineering Manager with administration tasks
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will:
Liaise with Software Engineering and Project Engineering teams to gather progress updates
Track actual versus planned spend and flag variances early
Track weekly timesheets for accuracy against engineering activities
Prepare reports to provide visibility of status, budgets, and risks
Update and maintain project schedules and trackers
Identify and report resource conflicts
Support planning meetings and internal reviews with up‑to‑date information
Assist Engineering Manager with continuous improvement of planning and reporting processes
Assist Engineering Manager with administration tasks
Qualifications
What we are looking for
Essential:
Experience in a project coordination, PMO, planning, or support role
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Confidence working with project plans, spreadsheets, and reports
Basic understanding of budgets or cost tracking
Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams and stakeholders
Comfortable working across multiple priorities at the same time
Good attention to detail and a structured approach to work
IT‑literate with good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Desirable:
Experience working in an engineering environment
Exposure to project planning or tracking tools (e.g. Planner, Jira, MS Project)
Experience supporting internal or operational improvement projects
