Job Title: Social Media Associate
Department: Integrated Marketing & Communications
Reports to: Senior Manager of Social Media
Job Summary:
FC Cincinnati is seeking a creative, organized, and soccer-savvy Social Media Associate to support the club's digital content efforts for FC Cincinnati 2 and FC Cincinnati Academy. This part-time, hourly position (up to 30 hours per week) will be responsible for executing social media coverage, creating engaging content, and helping grow the club's Academy and MLS NEXT Pro platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, thrives in a fast-paced sports environment, and is comfortable working nights and weekends around match and event schedules. This role will primarily support FC Cincinnati 2 and Academy initiatives while assisting with First Team social media and content efforts as needed.
Work Hours: In addition to normal business hours, weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required as schedule and project workload dictates. Some travel may be required. Hybrid work environment, including on-site coverage at FC Cincinnati 2 home matches and remote coverage for away matches
What You’ll Do:
- Manage day-to-day social media publishing and community engagement for FC Cincinnati 2 and FC Cincinnati Academy channels.
- Provide live match coverage for all FC Cincinnati 2 matches, select Academy matches, and additional club events across platforms.
- Create and produce short-form vertical video, photography, and other social-first content.
- Help elevate the FC Cincinnati Academy brand through engaging content that drives awareness, interest, and growth.
- Execute and maintain content calendars to ensure consistent, compelling messaging across platforms.
- Work closely with FC Cincinnati 2 and Academy technical staff to stay informed on team developments to support relevant content.
- Monitor platform trends and recommend content opportunities that maximize engagement and audience growth.
- Engage with supporters and followers while maintaining the club's voice, personality, and brand standards.
- Ensure all content aligns with FC Cincinnati brand guidelines and social media best practices.
- Assist with First Team social media and content initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field is preferred.
- 1+ years of professional experience working in social media for a team, league, collegiate athletics department, entertainment or sports content organization preferred.
- In lieu of full-time experience, a series of internships that demonstrate increasing responsibility are acceptable.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
- Ability to generate new ideas and translate them into high-quality, engaging content
- Proficiency with content creation and video editing tools (Slate and CapCut)
- Ability to work efficiently and balance multiple campaigns and projects and complete everything by deadline
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Represent the club in ethical and professional manners at all times
- Knowledge of, and interest in, soccer, specifically Major League Soccer, and sports, as well as pop culture
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and After Effects
