Fixed Term Cafe Assistant - Science Museum Cafe

Job Description

Join our team at the Science Museum Cafe in London, United Kingdom! We're looking for a friendly and efficient Fixed Term Cafe Assistant to provide exceptional service to our visitors. As a key member of our cafe team, you'll contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere while serving delicious food and beverages.

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe area
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory management
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea
• Handle cash and credit card transactions with precision
• Adhere to all food safety and handling procedures
• Assist with setting up and closing down the cafe as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
• Knowledge of food handling and safety practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team player with good communication skills
• Previous experience in food service or cafe environment preferred
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
• Food Safety Certification, and ability to engage with museum visitors are a plus
