Job Description
We are looking Senior Test Engineer to join Sopra Steria Polska and one of our innovative international squads.
As a Tester you ensure the quality and stability of highly available and security-critical services. You design, implement and continuously evolve robust test automation solutions and systematically integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and reproducible test execution in complex distributed systems.
Within a multi-year transformation programme, our team is modernizing central, business-critical applications and operating them on a cloud-based, containerised microservice architecture. Delivery follows an agile (Scrum-based) model in close coordination with the client. The environment combines a modern Azure-based cloud and DevSecOps technology stack with the stringent requirements for IT security, availability and regulatory compliance applicable to a central bank.
Note that we can only offer cooperation to people who are located in Poland and have EU citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and continuously optimise test automation frameworks for business-critical applications
- Develop, maintain and execute automated functional, regression, integration and smoke tests
- Plan, design and execute load and performance tests using established tools (e.g. Apache JMeter, Azure Load Testing)
- Integrate automated tests into build, deployment and CI/CD pipelines and ensure stable, repeatable test execution (e.g. via pipeline quality gates and controlled environments)
- Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans and test concepts aligned with recognised standards (e.g. ISTQB, ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119)
- Define and implement metrics and KPIs to measure, monitor and continuously improve test coverage, defect detection and product quality
- Manage test data and ensure controlled provisioning of test environments, including containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes in a DevSecOps context (e.g. shift-left testing, integration into development workflows)
- Collaborate within an agile (Scrum-based) team in close coordination with the client
Tech stack on the project:
- Languages: Java, TypeScript; scripting: Bash, PowerShell
- Test automation: Katalon Studio or comparable, code-centric automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Load & performance: Apache JMeter, Azure Load Testing
- Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
- CI/CD: Standardised build and deployment pipelines with integrated DevOps toolin
- Methodology: Agile / Scrum, DevSecOps
Qualifications
Must have requirements:
- Practical experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks
- Very good knowledge of standards in quality management and software management (e.g. ISTQB, ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119)
- Very good knowledge of, among others, Java and TypeScript for test automation
- Practical experience with tools for load and performance testing, in particular Apache JMeter and Azure Load Testing
- Very good knowledge of test automation platforms (e.g. Katalon Studio or comparable solutions) for executing functional tests
- Very good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) for integration into build and deployment pipelines
- Experience in integrating automated tests into build and deployment processes (smoke, regression, integration tests), including integration into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring stable, reproducible test execution
- Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration (in particular Kubernetes) for test-related environments
- EU citizenship
- Fluent English: B2/C1.
- Fluent German: B2/C1.
- Being open to occasional business trips abroad and visits in our office in Katowice
Nice to have requirements:
- Very good knowledge of regression test strategies and structured test data management
- Extensive practical experience in preparing and operationalising test strategies, test plans and test concepts
- Practical experience in agile methods (in particular Scrum) and their systematic integration with testing activities
- Knowledge of defining and preparing test evaluations through metrics and KPIs to measure test and product quality

The recruitment process for this position consists of 3 stages:
• a short phone call with a recruiter (30 min max)
• one-hour long interview on Teams (with both general and technical questions)
• clients interview on Teams
Salary range:
UOP: 12 000-16 000 PLN gross/month.
B2B: 100-140 PLN net/h
