About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Public Accountant to join our accounting team in Guadalajara.

This is a hands-on accounting position where you will be involved in the complete accounting cycle, supporting month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, identifies issues before they become problems, communicates proactively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates with experience in a public accounting firm (despacho contable) are highly valued, as they typically develop strong accounting fundamentals and exposure to multiple areas of accounting.

What You'll Do

• Perform full-cycle accounting activities.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review accruals.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with different departments to resolve accounting issues.
• Identify missing information, potential risks, or accounting issues early and communicate them proactively.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Public Accounting (Licenciatura en Contaduría Pública).
• Professional License (Cédula Profesional).
• Experience in General Accounting / Full-Cycle Accounting.
• Experience with:
• Journal Entries
• Accruals
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Month-End Close
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Availability to work full-time on-site in our offices in Col Providencia, Guadalajara.
• Flexibility to work beyond regular business hours when required to meet month-end close deadlines and business priorities.
• English

Nice to Have

• Experience in a public accounting firm (despacho contable).
• Experience supporting multiple companies or business units.
