Job Description
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the inspection, examination, testing, and certification of lifting equipment and lifting accessories.
Mandatory Certifications
- LEEA Lifting Accessories (LAC) Diploma Certificate
- Offshore Container Diploma Certificate
Job Purpose
To perform thorough examinations, inspections, testing, and certification of lifting equipment, lifting accessories, and offshore containers in accordance with LEEA guidance, applicable international standards, statutory requirements, and company quality procedures, ensuring equipment is safe and fit for service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations and inspections of lifting equipment and lifting accessories.
- Inspect and certify offshore containers in accordance with applicable standards and company procedures.
- Perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, functional tests, and proof load tests where applicable.
- Identify defects, deterioration, excessive wear, corrosion, deformation, and other conditions affecting the safe operation of lifting equipment.
- Recommend repairs, rejection, or replacement of equipment that does not meet acceptance criteria.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports, certificates, and supporting documentation.
- Comply with all HSE policies and safe working practices during onsite and offshore inspections.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of lifting equipment inspection principles and practices.
- Familiarity with cranes, hoists, chain slings, wire rope slings, shackles, hooks, eyebolts, lifting beams, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories.
- Knowledge of offshore containers and associated inspection requirements.
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification (preferred).
