Polymeric Materials Engineer ( Elastomers and Thermoplasts )

Job Description

We are seeking a material science-oriented and analytical Research Team Scientist to join our organization in San Luis Potosí City, Mexico. In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge scientific research initiatives, working collaboratively with a talented team of researchers to advance our organization's scientific objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for discovery to drive meaningful research outcomes. Your main task areas will be:

• Execute research activities to explore new technologies for ContiTech in the materials area and in related technology areas based on the material strategy of ContiTech
• Manage ContiTech-internal technology exchange for research specific topics
• Develop and maintain network among research organizations, universities and start-ups
• Ensure the communication and execution of reserach focus at external institutes and universities for ContiTech
• Translate the RnD strategy into research activities for the respective areas (elastomers, thermoplasts, reinforcements, smart materials process)
• Consult the execution of material development to ensure newest content of research
• Contribute to continuous development of processes, simulation and test methods

• Prepare technical reports, research summaries, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations
• Stay current with relevant scientific literature and emerging research methodologies in your field
• Support the development of grant proposals and research funding applications as needed

Qualifications

• Advanced material competence in polymeric materials (elastomers, thermoplasts, reinforcements)
• Advanced analytical methods knowledge in the area of elastomers and thermoplasts
• Advanced level of english is required.
• Proven experience conducting scientific research and working in laboratory environments
• Solid understanding of scientific research methodology and experimental design principles
• Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative team settings
• Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges
