Job Description

What You Get to Do:

The Mental Health and Behavior Professional will develop and implement programs and services to remediate behavioral and social problems for adult persons served.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Design programs and Implement/monitor systems that support people who are engaging in challenging behaviors.
  • Participate as a team member in order to facilitate enriched quality of life, desired lifestyles, increased levels of independence and productivity, and social/physical integration.
  • Review behavioral staff reports/plans.
  • Participate as a member of our professional interdisciplinary team which provides assessments, intervention strategies, and consultation for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 
  • Assist primary health care providers in recognizing and treating behavioral and social problems
  • Data collection, tracking and reporting; use expertise with populations of mental health and cognitive impairments
  • Develop and implement training for staff and caregivers
  • Attend and participate in meetings and quality improvement activities as required
  • Assist the support team in locating and obtaining community resources which are available to the persons served and their families
  • Frequently observe person served, staff interactions, the environment and the implementation of supports and services during and outside of normal business hours

Qualifications

What Makes You a Great Fit:

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health and Behavior Professional who meets one of the following credentialing pathways:

Option 1: BCBA

  • Certification: Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the BACB.

Option 2: Masters Degree in Social Work

  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Graduate student who is enrolled in an accredited institution in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, nursing or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the design and implementation of behavior modification intervention services with adults.

General Requirements (all candidates):

  • Education: Master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related clinical field or Graduate student who is enrolled in an accredited institution in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, nursing or a closely related field.
  • Core Skills: Strong analytical, administrative, and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work collaboratively while maintaining high clinical standards.
  • Logistics: A valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.

*Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Additional Information

Schedule & Hours Worked:

The typical hours worked are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, work schedule may change depending on the scheduling needs of individuals. Appointments may occur in the early morning, evening or on the weekend to best meet the needs of the person served.

Travel:

This role will be based in Milwaukee and will follow a standard rotation of visits to program sites in Milwaukee, Madison, Janesville, Baraboo, Lyndon Station, and occasionally Eau Claire.
