Location: Amman, Jordan

Job purpose:

Our client is seeking a Data Analysis Specialist who will play a key role in designing, developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models by interpreting and analyzing complex datasets with the business in order to provide insights and support data-driven decision making. This individual will also contribute to maintaining data dictionaries, metadata documentation, and data standards to support consistency and clarity across the organization. This highly collaborative role works closely alongside data engineers, data governance, and business executives to gather and transform data, conduct statistical analysis, and create visualizations and reports that will contribute to identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive business initiatives.

Key accountabilities:

  • Design, create, implement and maintain logical and physical data models for both IT and business solutions to capture the structure, relationships, and constraints of relevant datasets
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with various stakeholders to understand data and business requirements and translate them into data models
  • Build and operationalize complex data solutions, correct problems, apply transformations, and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions
  • Create data flow diagrams, dimensional models (e.g., star schema), and other visual representations to support analytics and reporting
  • Collaborate with data engineers and database administrators to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
  • Develop data modelling best practices, and use these standards to identify and resolve data modelling issues and conflicts
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data models for efficient data access and retrieval
  • Incorporate core data management competencies, including data governance, data security and data quality
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data models.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata documentation, and clear definitions for key datasets and business terms

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant field.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, BI analyst, or related profession
  • Proven project experience with programming languages such as DAX, SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis
  • Proven project experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel
  • Hands-on relational, dimensional, and analytical project experience
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, or similar enterprise applications
