Job Description

Job Summary:

The General Accounting Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role focuses on the unique accounting needs of the food and beverage industry, including cost control, inventory management, revenue auditing, and expense analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing reports.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, schedules, and management reports.
  • Monitor and reconcile subsidiary ledgers, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
  • Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Schedule and prepare check or electronic payments while maintaining proper documentation and approval processes.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain an updated record of all payables and ensure timely payments to vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with company disbursement policies and BIR regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with government reportorial requirements (BIR, SEC, etc.) in coordination with the Accounting Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax-related schedules and other statutory reports.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Provide accounting support during budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting activities.
  • Handle other finance-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA or equivalent certification (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Minimum 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or F&B industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and POS integration.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

  • Understanding of cost accounting and inventory control principles.

  • Experience in a corporate finance environment or audit firm.

  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance in Philippines.
