Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist (RCRA) to support our Environmental business line. In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader, applying advanced knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and hazardous waste regulations to deliver complex environmental projects for industrial, commercial, and federal clients. The successful candidate will lead the development of technical approaches, oversee project execution from planning through completion, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients, prepare and review technical deliverables, and provide guidance to junior staff while ensuring high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet project objectives and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serves as a fully capable professional in the field with minimal direction.
- Applies advanced knowledge to develop design procedures software and tools to facilitate high quality cost-effective technical project activities.
- Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Manages communication and collaboration with full design team and client.
- Conducts interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Oversees the development and implementation of technical approach and the completion of complex work which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings.
- Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
- May oversee the work of less experienced designers.
- Meets with clients and oversees all aspects of the project to ensure client needs are met
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- Successful candidate will have to pass client required drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle records check
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience supporting RCRA regulatory compliance, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting projects.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste regulations, including RCRA corrective action and compliance programs.
- Experience serving industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or federal government clients.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary environmental projects, including technical oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
- Professional certification such as CHMM, PE, PG, or other relevant environmental credential preferred.
